in transportation costs if the School District actually went to the four day week? I am thinking that it would be a substantial amount.

The schools my kids attend at Ft. Lewis WA have cut back their schedule by a 1/2 day and although they are not saving transportation $$ they are saving quite a bit by not using the public utilities during that time period.
The school board there wanted to gradually cut back to 4 days a week and chose to only go 4.5 days a week this year.

Neosho had "short Fridays" last school year - not a half day but they got out at 2:20 pm. I'd rather they either go all day or half day - one or the other.

I would like to see designated bus stops instead of the buses - in town and in my neighborhood - stopping every few houses to pick up kids. For whatever reason, the bus also makes two passes through the neighborhood during the normal school year - isn't one enough? I think if they had several designated stops - which they did when I went to Neosho and rode a bus many moons ago - and made one drive through the neighborhood, they would save fuel.
