The fence is still an issue.

The fence is still an issue.

Way back when, Mitchell came to town and immediately asked for a thirty million dollar bond issue. Included in this bond issue were two items for South School which were the fencing of the property and the paving of the area to the west of the west traffic circle. Now, when that bond issue was defeated, these items went away, at least on all the bond issues that followed. Now, the problem is that the problem still exists. This school was built on the California Model and the classroom doors open to the outside making this a security issue for this school. Add to this the wooded area (in which some hobos congregate to drink wine and sleep) to the south of the playground area and it seems to be time to revisit the fencing issue. As for the parking lot, even though the school population has diminished, the parking problem has not improved that much, especially during the times of school functions. It probably is time to revisit this issue as well.

I have to agree; my youngest doesn't go there any longer (moved to Carver when it opened) but I still see the same issues. I've subbed there, too, and those woods have always bothered me. Anyone with any agenda could be up there.
